How to Change Your Voice Online

  1. Add your audio

Upload a WAV, MP3, OGG, or a browser-supported M4A/AAC file, or record with your microphone. Files must be 20 MB or smaller and no longer than 5 minutes.

  2. Choose an effect

Pick Deep Voice, Chipmunk, Robot, Telephone, Echo, Reverb, Monster, or Alien, then adjust the sliders that belong to that effect.

  3. Apply and preview

Apply Effect renders the chain in your browser and draws a real waveform of the result. Compare it with the original before exporting.

  4. Download WAV

Download the processed audio as a 16-bit PCM WAV file. Nothing is downloaded until you press the button.

Available Voice Effects

Deep Voice

Granular pitch shifting lowers the voice while keeping the clip close to its original duration and timing. A low-shelf boost and a low-pass filter add weight.

Chipmunk

Pitch is raised without stretching the clip length, and a treble boost makes the cartoon character brighter. The tempo stays roughly the same instead of simply speeding up playback.

Robot

A ring modulator multiplies your voice with a fast oscillator, then distortion and filtering add a metallic machine tone. Modulation, Distortion, and Mix are adjustable.

Telephone

A band-pass filter removes frequencies outside the phone range, with light drive and compression. The Bandwidth, Drive, and Mix sliders shape the call.

Echo

A delay line repeats the voice. Feedback controls how many repeats you hear and Mix balances the dry voice against the delayed signal.

Reverb

Convolution with a generated impulse response simulates a room. Room Size, Decay, and Mix change the size and character of the space.

Monster

A deeper pitch, heavy saturation, low-pass filtering, and a slow growl modulation combine into a dark creature voice — clearly different from the Deep Voice preset.

Alien

Ring modulation, an upward pitch shift, and a wobbling resonant filter create a non-human sci-fi timbre. Ring frequency, Pitch, Wobble, and Mix are adjustable.

Normal

Bypasses every effect and exports the decoded audio as a WAV copy, which is useful for checking the original against processed versions.

Custom

Combine pitch shift, a low-pass filter, distortion, and echo to build your own effect with one set of controls.

How Does an Online Voice Changer Work?

When you add a file or finish a recording, the browser decodes it into raw PCM audio with the Web Audio API. The audio stays in memory on your device and is not uploaded for these effects.

Pitch changes run in a Web Worker using a granular overlap-add pitch shifter. Short overlapping grains are resampled and windowed, so the clip keeps roughly the same duration instead of only slowing down or speeding up playback.

The rest of the effect is rendered with an OfflineAudioContext. Biquad filters shape frequency ranges, oscillators add ring modulation, WaveShaper nodes add distortion, Delay nodes create echoes, and a ConvolverNode adds reverb.

The rendered buffer is encoded as 16-bit PCM WAV in the browser. A compressor and output gain reduce clipping, and the encoder scales the file down if a peak would otherwise clip. Longer clips use an indeterminate progress state rather than a fake percentage.

Is This Voice Changer Free?

Yes. Every effect, parameter, recording feature, and WAV download on this page is free and does not require an account.

The tool runs entirely in your browser and does not call an AI model or a paid audio API. There are no API keys, credits, or per-export charges for these voice effects.

Free here refers to this voice changer page. Other Vocalove tools may use credits; this local audio tool does not.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this voice changer free?
Yes. All ten presets, every parameter, microphone recording, previews, and WAV downloads are free on this page. No account or API key is required.
Can I change my voice without downloading software?
Yes. Upload an audio file or record with your microphone in a modern desktop or mobile browser. The effects are built with the Web Audio API, so you do not install a desktop app.
Does this tool use AI?
No. This voice changer does not call an AI model or an external audio API. Pitch shifting, filtering, modulation, delay, and reverb are produced by deterministic browser audio processing.
Is my audio uploaded to a server?
No. Audio is decoded and processed locally in your browser for the effects on this page, and it is not sent to Vocalove servers. It stays in browser memory until you remove it or close the tab.
Can I download my changed voice?
Yes. After processing, use Download WAV to save a 16-bit PCM WAV file with the effect applied. This version does not export MP3.
Can I use this voice changer on my phone?
Yes on current mobile browsers. Microphone recording requires permission and a secure HTTPS connection. Very long clips can exceed the memory available on older phones, so shorter recordings work best.
Why does the result sound different from the original?
The presets change pitch, frequency balance, modulation, delay, or room ambience. Pitch shifting is not a copy of the original waveform and can add a slight granular texture, while echo and reverb add tails that were not in the recording.
Which audio formats can I upload?
WAV, MP3, OGG, and M4A/AAC when your browser can decode them. Files must be 20 MB or smaller and no longer than 5 minutes. If a file will not decode, convert it to WAV or MP3 and try again.
